Son Of A Gun are a highly entertaining vocal/instrumental act comprising Rob Saker and Peter Green. Rob and Peter have played in various groups and bands since the mid sixties, with Son Of A Gun winning TV’s New Faces in 1975. Their repertoire covers music from the last 50 years, with everything from Rock 'n' Roll to the present day.
Son Of A Gun specialise in playing for weddings, corporate events and private parties. Son Of A Gun use very high quality sound equipment, sporting a quality 'Electro Voice' sound system (PA System), Sennheiser microphones and stage lighting, which will enhance the atmosphere of any venue.
Rob supplies the lead vocals and plays guitar, with Peter playing keyboards and singing harmonies. Peter usually has two keyboards on stage, but with midi-links this gives the equivalent of six units, ensuring that Son Of A Gun’s overall sound surpasses that of most groups with four or more musicians. Peter is a professional music producer and has produced all of Son Of A Gun's tracks himself, in his professional music studio.
Rob & Peter have worked throughout Europe, Morocco, the West Indies and the United States. They have played for many star names including: Cilla Black, Brotherhood Of Man, The Drifters, Shane Richie, The Nolans, Johnny Ray, Mike Reed, Pickety Witch, Bernard Manning, Les Dawson, Bob Monkhouse, Tommy Cooper, Guys & Dolls.

LEAD VOCALS & GUITAR
Rob started his musical journey in the late sixties and did his training gigging in the working men ’s clubs, in the north of England, as a solo artiste. He then progressed to singing with Dance Bands, such as the Joe Loss Orchestra and The Ray McVay Band, which were hugely popular in their day.
A born and bred Peterborough lad, Rob soon became renowned for his unique and powerful voice, which still stands the test of time today.
In the mid - seventies Rob became the vocal frontman for Peterborough ’s top dance band, The Terry Mann Band.
Over the years Rob has sung with other top line local bands including: The Graham Walker Showband, Peppermill and The Phoenix Showband, to name just a few.
Rob has also had appearances on the ITV Network .
KEYBOARDS & BACKING VOCALS
Peter has played in various groups since the mid sixties, starting out as a guitarist/bass player with The Maniax in Bourne, Lincolnshire.
He also played in The Diary, Jigsaw, Masquerade, Astakhan Moon, The Mastersounds, The Crowd, The Regency, Spectrum, Kontakt, Indigo Mood and The Tudors.
Peter's recording career started with White Label (a part of Island records) in 1965. He has also recorded for Pye, CBS, and RCA as part of Son Of A Gun.
Peter is a very experienced music producer, having had his own studio since 1988. He has arranged and produced all of Son Of A Gun’s songs/tracks in the studio.
